Jeff and Kim Cruse have been serving alongside Nehemiah Teams Philippines since 2005 when their newly planted student church in Batangas City sent out its first student. Since then, many of these students have served on NT, and a few are assisting in starting a new NT franchise in a Southeast Asian country. They have also supervised and utilized American NT in their campus evangelism efforts from 2009-2019.
Jeff came to the Philippines as a Journeyman in 1997. After serving as campus evangelists and disciplers in Manila, Jeff & Kim married in Tennessee and attended seminary. Two years later they were back on the field in the Philippines where they served for 22 years in the roles of Church Planters with university students, missions mobilizers of Filipinos, and have hosted/supervised teams of both American and Filipino Nehemiah Teams as well as short term teams, semester teams, and Journeymen.
Jeff’s undergraduate degree was in Civil Engineering from Florida Tech, followed by a MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Currently serving as an IMB Student Mobilizer, Jeff continues to help with Nehemiah Teams by setting up partnerships in North American. Kim is currently serving as Missions Discipleship Specialist at Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. They both enjoy speaking at churches of how God is at work among the nations, and they look for opportunities to challenge and mobilize students at BCMs and local churches to serve through Nehemiah Teams.
If you would like to support the work of Nehemiah Teams beyond gifts through the Cooperative Program and Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, we would be grateful for your help. The Nehemiah Teams: Student Missionary Training project provides additional budget specifically for travel & training.
Travel budget includes setting up in new areas of Southeast Asia for new American teams, on-site survey with local field supervisors, and travel for national partners to assist with setting up Nehemiah Teams in new countries (national program). Training budget includes funds for Advance Operations Training (AOT), food/travel expenses for a retreat held for all national franchise NT leaders in the Philippines, and training materials for national Nehemiah Teams participants.
