8580 Team of 3 Needs at least 2 students, same gender
Field cost: $1689 plus round trip airfare, immunizations, required travel insurance, passport & visa costs, etc.
The strongest power of the gospel is the Kinship of Jesus' love beyond every barrier between humans. Students will experience multi-cultural missions in Korea and Cambodia. They will teach English to children and teenagers in Korea for the first month and then move to Cambodia with their Korean team mates where they will be involved in various ministries such as: teaching English and Korean, worship dances, playing musical instruments & one on one evangelism. It would be helpful if the students have training/experience teaching English. This is a joint partnership between the South Korean Baptist Student Union and American collegiate ministries.
Upon arriving in South Korea, you will spend a week living with & teaching English to refugees from a neighboring country. Next, your team of Americans & Koreans will go to Cambodia. You will partner with a Korean pastor as they reach out to several urban poor communities. You will be teaching English & sharing your story.
8703 Team of 5 (2 guys/3 girls) 1 male or 1 female needed
Field cost: $803 plus round trip airfare, immunizations, required travel insurance, passport costs, etc.
Teach English to elementary & high school students, tutor or teach music (guitar, piano or voice), train other teachers in children's ministry (by doing it with them & letting them learn alongside you), teach art, play soccer or other sports. All of these will give you an entry point to build relationships and open doors to share the Gospel.
FOR ALL ASSIGNMENTS, your first stop will be a joint orientation with other Nehemiah Teams, learning the skills you need to carry out your assignment. You will then travel to the field to spend your summer carrying out the task you've prepared for. At the end of the summer, travel back to a joint debrief, sharing all that God has done. It is required that all participants attend orientation & debrief.
