In 1813, Adoniram and Ann Judson arrived in Burma, becoming some of the first American Baptist missionaries. For almost 40 years, the Judsons labored and toiled among the Burmese and Karen peoples of Myanmar, and saw many come to faith. Today, there is still much lostness in Myanmar, specifically among the Bhama (ethnically Burmese), Rakhine, Mon, and Pa-O people groups, all of which are considered unreached. The major religion of Myanmar is Buddhism. Many people in Myanmar do not have access to the gospel. Additionally, there is also much prejudice and resentment between ethnic groups. Prayer points: - Pray for openness in those who hear the Good News. - Pray for boldness and strength for national believers and missionaries. - Pray for healing and restoration for the various ethnic groups, and that they would unite in Christ. - Pray that people would be saved, and churches would be planted, especially among the unreached people groups. - Pray for more missionaries to go long-term to Myanmar.
