FOR ALL TEAMS your first stop will be a joint orientation with other Nehemiah Teams, learning the skills you need to carry out your assignment. You will then travel to the field to spend your summer carrying out the task you've prepared for. At the end of the summer, travel back to a joint debrief, sharing all that God has done. It is expected that all teams members attend the complete orientation & debrief.

URBAN RISK TAKER

Join us in our city of 3.5 million people from all walks of life who are trapped in darkness. We need students who are ready, able, and eager to get creative and look for ways to engage our city with the Gospel. Using your gifts and skills, you can impact our city through an English language community, outreach to victims of human trafficking, prisoners, small business development, and exploring the streets looking for open doors.

ASIA MEDIA & MISSIONARY INTERNS

We’re looking for university students like you to fill roles such as - Videographers: Capture and produce compelling videos that tell inspiring stories of God’s work. - Social Content Creators: Develop engaging content for social media that shares the gospel and invites conversations through digital engagement. - Graphic Designers: Create eye-catching brochures, banners, displays, prayer guides, social media content, and training materials. - Writers: Craft compelling narratives and share stories of God’s work to inspire and inform. In addition to your creative role, you'll also engage in missionary activities, including sharing the Gospel, making disciples, and helping plant churches. Ready to make a difference? CHURCH PLANTING INTERNS

Do you want to spend a summer working in a Buddhist city of more than 7 million unbelievers? Excited about sharing the gospel with Buddhists who have never heard the name of Jesus? Join us as we display the love of God in an urban context through English outreach, seeker Bible studies, and making disciples alongside local believers.

REACHING THE UNREACHED & UNENGAGED

We need you! There are countless villages throughout East Indonesia that have never heard the good news of Jesus. Millions of people without hope who need to hear about Jesus. Are you willing to travel by plane, boat, motor, or trekking to reach them? Come join our team to advance the gospel amongst the unreached. Our team enters into fields where the unengaged & unreached live. You will be a part of a team that regularly shares their faith. On a daily basis you will be involved in the lives of Indonesians. You need to be comfortable going out & engaging people. You will be given training on how to proclaim the gospel news to Muslims, Animists and Catholics BUT you have to be willing to be intentional & talk with people. You will be making disciples & training others to do the same. You will be involved in prayer walking the areas where we have no work or new work. Asking questions of the locals for our research and taking pictures of them will also be needed. You will be traveling lightly with a backpack as a tourist.

HUMALA EXPERIENCE

Spend your summer, exploring the district while trying to engage several unreached unengaged people groups with the gospel. Your team will primarily spend time in 2 specific areas.

TAPLEJUNG EXPERIENCE

This team will live primarily in a village in the district for the duration of the trip. The team will also have the opportunity to trek to a Base Camp location, depending on the weather. The goals of the trip are to spend as much time as possible with the people living locally in order to share the gospel and connect people with a local church in a nearby village.

EVANGELIST & PRAYER ADVOCATE

The team will spend a significant amount of their time in frontline engagement (prayer & evangelism). In our province, the total population is 3.7 million people with only 2.4% of them identifying as Evangelical Christian. Additionally, there is a huge student population because there are over 100 universities in the province, providing many opportunities for college students from the States to engage Indonesian college students. However, evangelism engagement will not only be limited to college students as the city affords many other opportunities to engage people on the streets. The team will primarily look for opportunities to evangelize English-speaking nationals in local coffee shops and cafes, in roadside food stalls, parks, and other public places where people tend to gather throughout the province. Additionally, team members may also have opportunities to share testimonies and/or short devotional teachings in local churches and/or at campus ministry gatherings located throughout the province. We are not looking for “experts” but rather people who are humbly willing to serve, willing to be learn, willing to faithfully proclaim the gospel and willing to intercede on behalf of those who are desperately lost in our province. Outside of evangelism and prayer walking, the team will have other opportunities to partner with other local ministries, explore the province, learn about local history and culture, and see many historical sites.

The great missionary C.T Studd said ”Some wish to live within the sound of a chapel bell, I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of Hell.” Come to our tropical nation, sit on the floor in their one room homes, and be the first to share the good news of the kingdom of God. Or light a fire in someone’s heart to share the love of Christ on university campuses that will keep burning when you return home, as we seek Him to powerfully work among university students. Lastly, you may be more wired to disciple those who have believed and help them further understand how to live as a World Christian. Every day here, another hundred enter into a Christless eternity, consider joining us and witnessing the Father work in and through you here.
