We are both from a small town near Tulsa, OK. We attended Pittsburg State University in Southeast Kansas and got married in 2016, after our sophomore year of college. During our time at school, we began to meet and spend time with people from other countries and cultures for the first time. We loved learning about the diverse cultures throughout the World and hearing our friends’ stories.
After spending time with international students and through the influence of our Christian friends and the BCM, we felt the Lord leading us to go overseas for the summer. We found Nehemiah Teams on the IMB website and during the summer of 2017, we went to Eastern Samar in the Philippines with Nehemiah Teams. God used that summer to completely change our way of thinking about the lost and unreached people across the globe. He taught us that The Great Commission is a command for all believers to obey. After that summer, we felt God leading us to pursue the Journeyman Program with the IMB.
In 2018, Trey graduated from PSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Meghan has her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. We both worked for 1 year as we applied to become Journeymen. In January of 2020 we were approved to be Journeymen in the Philippines to work with Jess and Wendy Jennings and Nehemiah Teams. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has delayed our departure for the field. In the meantime, we are mobilizing students to go overseas with Nehemiah Teams and encouraging churches to be involved in international missions. We have a passion for informing believers about the state of the World, what God’s Word says about it, and how we all can play a part in finishing the Great Commission in this generation. We are looking forward to serving overseas with Nehemiah Teams in the near future.
As IMB personnel, Trey and Meghan are fully supported by Southern Baptists through the Cooperative Program and Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. The Dickeys do not receive any funds from Nehemiah Teams, Inc. You can donate directly to the IMB by following this link: https://www.imb.org/give/Your gifts help support the work of almost 3800 missionaries worldwide.
